What Is Tennis Elbow & Golfer’s Elbow

Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylalgia) and golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylalgia) are overuse conditions affecting the tendons on the outside or inside of the elbow, where the forearm muscles attach. Despite the names, they are just as commonly seen in manual workers, gardeners and desk-based computer users as in racquet sport or golf players.
Tennis Elbow & Golfer’s Elbow

Common Causes / Who Gets It

Repetitive gripping, typing or wrist movements
Sudden increase in racquet sport, golf, or manual activity
Poor technique or equipment (e.g. grip size) placing extra strain on the tendon
Weakness in the forearm or shoulder muscles increasing load on the elbow

How Chiropractic Care Helps

Assessment of elbow, wrist and grip strength to confirm the diagnosis and contributing factors
Soft tissue therapy to the affected forearm tendons and muscles
Joint mobilisation of the elbow, wrist and, where relevant, the neck
A progressive loading and stretching programme, which has the strongest evidence for long-term tendon recovery
Advice on activity modification, technique and equipment

I injured myself pretty badly during a motocross race and was worried about how long I’d be off the bike. I started seeing Adem during my recovery, and he made a massive difference.

He really knows his stuff and took the time to work out what was causing the problems rather than just treating the symptoms. The treatment and advice I got from him helped me get my strength and mobility back, and I always felt like I was in safe hands.

I’m now fully recovered and back on the bike competing again, which I honestly didn’t know when I’d be able to do. I’m really grateful to Adem for helping me get back to doing what I love. Would definitely recommend him to anyone dealing with an injury or trying to get back into sport.

I was recommended Adem by a fellow tradesman who had high praises for his care and work. After my initial assessment with Adem, he began treating my issues. I have had chronic pain with back and hip issues for years and I was heading into a disability zone. I was unhappy, worn out and getting progressively worse. Adem had spent his time to listen, explain, assess, diagnose and a plan that has given me back my life. He is a professional and a gentleman. I cannot praise him enough and would recommend his practice to anyone! He is definitely value for money. My family thanks him for his care and effort. He is wonderful in my opinion and I will continue my visits to him as far as I can see. I’m grateful for him.

Kindest regards

I'd been struggling with lower back pain from playing basketball regularly it was affecting my game and my day-to-day mobility. Ansis took the time to properly assess what was going on rather than just treating symptoms, and after a few sessions the difference was night and day. I'm back on the court pain-free. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Ansis has been a huge help in becoming pain-free and allowing me to care for my family. I struggled with middle back pain from carrying my youngest child and breastfeeding in awkward positions. After a couple of sessions, my pain had significantly improved, and after completing my treatment plan, I had no pain whatsoever. He gave me really good advice on how to build a stronger body through exercise and avoid the pain coming back. I feel better than ever! Can't recommend him enough!
